Join us for an informative and empowering workshop designed to strengthen safety, understanding, and positive relationships between individuals with disabilities, their families, and law enforcement. This parent-focused professional development session will be led by Detective Kaub of the Menifee Police Department, a key supporter in the development of the Blue Envelope Program, in partnership with the Inland Regional Center. Detective Kaub will share valuable insight into how law enforcement agencies are working to better support individuals with disabilities during community interactions. Workshop Focus The presentation will highlight efforts to build positive, safe, and respectful relationships between students with disabilities, their families, and law enforcement. Topics include: Police officer training in soft restraint techniques De-escalation strategies for high-stress situations Use of communication devices to support understanding The Blue Envelope Program Re-unification programs for missing or vulnerable individuals Additional community safety initiatives and resources Who Should Attend Parents and caregivers of students with disabilities across Riverside County, along with anyone interested in supporting safer community connections.
